Mass action in Vedas

I have heard the following from my late father.  He narrated this to clarify why we do not milk the cows for the

first ten days after their calving and also allow the calf to go with its mother up to 9 a.m. from the 11th day on wards.

I am reproducing this from memory.   There may be some mistakes.

I request the learned members of this group to find the source of this passage and give the correct version and meaning.

अंगिरसो वै सत्रमासत /

तेषां पृश्निर्धर्मधुगासीत् /

सर्जीषेनाजीवत् /

ते/ब्रुवन् /

कस्मै नु सत्रमास्महे /

ते दिवो वृष्टिमसृजन्त /

त जातं विषेणालिंपन् /

त संजग्ध्वा रुप्यंतैत् /

ते/ब्रुवन् /

क इदमित्थमकारि इति /

वयं भागधेयमिच्छाना इति पितरोब्रुवन् /

किं वो भागधेय मिति /      

अग्निहोत्रमेव नो अस्त्विति अब्रुवन् /

तेभ्य एतं भागधेयं प्रायच्छन्   /

यदुक्त्वा निमर्ष्टि  /

ततो वै त ऒषधीरस्वादन् /

य ऎवं वेद /

स्वादन्तो अस्मा ऒषधय: /

ते वत्समुपवसजन्  /

इदं नो हव्यं प्रदापयेति /

सोब्रवीत् वरं वृणै /

दश मा रात्रीर्न दोहन् /

आसंगवं मात्रा सह चराणीति /

तस्मात् वत्सं दश रात्रीर्न दुहंति /

 

आसंगवं मात्रा सह चरति  /

वरो वृतं ह्यस्य /

तस्मात् वत्सं संसृष्टायं रुद्रो घातुक: /

अति हि संधं ध्यायति   /
