School Bond Election May 21 – next Tuesday!

Your vote is important. If you live within the Salmon School District you can vote in this election. The District boundaries encompass a HUGE area – all the way up to Lost Trail Pass, down river past Shoup, east to just before Tendoy, south to Elk Bend and west to the Middle Fork of the Salmon River!!!
Please take the time to vote, the polls are open from 8 am to 8 pm.

Vote in your regular polling place. Check with the County to find out where. You can register to vote at the polls.

Property taxes will rise to either fund the construction of a new pre-K through 8th grade school for $14.6 million – over 20 years; or ensure structural stability through the replacement of roofs and increased stability in the walls of the Pioneer Elementary and Salmon Middle Schools for $3.6 million – over 6 years.

If both options fail, the state will impose the $3.6 million dollar structural fix on the tax payers with a payback time of 5 years.

The difference in the amount paid between the options depends on your property value. The only way to know the accurate amount is to call the county treasurer’s office, 756-2815 ext. 231.

Don’t forget to vote!!
