Dear members of St. Raphael,

We are excited to announce that we will have a vendor table at the Iowa City Farmer's Market every second Saturday of the month from May to October. We will be selling our lotion bars, our new cookbook, and market-approved baked goods that are in the cookbook.

Here are the three main reasons we’re doing this:

(1) to raise money for charities, such as the local Crisis Center, which provides emergency help for people in need

(2) to provide opportunities for outreach—that is, to talk with interested people about Orthodoxy and to invite them to church

(3) to have fun together serving the church and the community as we share foods from our cultures

Please consider volunteering to help ...

· Bake foods to be sold at the market

· Package and label foods

· Work at the market

· Help with other marketing, such as maintaining the cookbook Twitter feed and contacting other churches about our cookbook and lotion bars

A cook sign-up sheet for the market is posted on the church bulletin board just outside the library/bookstore. Please sign up if you’d like to cook, and we will contact you. If you have any questions, ask one of us.

If you are interested in one of the other volunteer jobs, please let one of us or Father know.

And if you can't volunteer, please come visit St. Raphael's table at the market!

Thanks,

Tania, Alli, Amy, and Karen
