your blessing.

 Christ is risen!
             This is a message from sr. Elena  from St-Elisabeth convent
from Belarus. I called yesterday . You asked me to send you some more
information about our  convent and  the aim of my call .

                Our Convent of St-Elisabeth  is situated  in Minsk ( Belarus
) on the premises of the Republican psychiatric hospital where about 12000
patients a year take a course of treatment. The main obedience of our
sisters is spiritual help to the mentally disabled adults and children,
alcoholics, drug addicts and other disadvantaged people who failed to find
their place in social life.                The convent has also acquired a
parcel of land and about 60 people, previously homeless, former alcoholics,
drug addicts, prisoners live and work there. They try to start a new life
and our sisters help them too. Work has begun on the organisation of an
orphanage.                 On the premises of the convent there is a variety
of workshops where numerous religious items are produced such as
hand-painted icons and printed icons, ceramics, embroidery, bee-wax candles,
vestments, woodwork ,CD etc.
           Several times a year 2 of our sisters come to the USA  and visit
parishes , monasteries and convents, to participate in the church services
and make presentations about our convent, if possible , show the film about
our life and service and collect possible donations. Thus we raise money for
our charitable work and the further construction of the convent.
          Right now we are making a plan of a new trip to the USA and we are
going to be in Texas in July. We are asking for your blessing to visit your
parish and and make presentation about our convent  and our charitable work
, to show some  of our religious items we usually bring with us.
 What day is the most suitable for you ? Do you have weekday services? Is it
possible to ask the parishioners  to help our  two sisters with
accomodation?
