SAHRIT Call for Applications

Dear Colleagues,

SAHRIT is now calling for applications for the fourth coming training workshop for civil society on, "the use of individual complaint mechanisms," as part of SAHRIT's 2007 project on "Increasing demand for accountability and respect for human rights through utilisation of enforcement mechanisms."

The workshop will be held in early July [ 2-4] 2007 and the deadline for applications is 10th June 2007. The workshop is essentially a capacity building project meant to benefit governments in five countries in the region (Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi) and Civil Society Organizations in these countries that either have a grass root base or are one way or the other engaged in processes that involve enforcement and implementation of human rights, both at the domestic level and through other bodies with supranational judicial oversight. Please note that applications are only open to the above mentioned countries.

Attached to this email are two set of documents including the application form which may be emailed or faxed back to SAHRIT.
