Howdy all,
Just letting you all know I am living in mt Barker for a while working
over here in Oakbank.
I have met some of you already and look forward to meeting more of you
in time.
I did fly many years ago Cape Jervis whilst traveling west in my
camper van.
Because Marty has been a slacker posting pics of our trip away, I
thought I would post a short vid of our Dalby comp.

I also hope to fly the powered harness around the area too, and would
appreciate some local knowledge of airspace in the Mt Barker region.
Maybe Jonno has a spare map.

Cheers

Boris

I'm told there's a gliding strip at monarto. Never been there though.

Welcome Boris , and may i wish many years of good flying to you here in SA once again :)
I have all the maps in hard copy you are after and can give you some support about PHG around Mount barker and south to Strathalbyn , where  as you know SDFC ( southern districts flying club ) members operate , all disciplines too , however powered harnesses are rare ,
Around Mount Barker you would be wise to operate under 2500 feet, and South east of MB under 4500  there are a few no go zones but a map will define those for you , I recommend you buy a VTC chart to begin with this will  probably be enough for your initial introduction

Hang gliding  ? aerotow is rare to non existent hence the migration to the eastern states , car ground tow days are organized by a very few people these days and mostly are posted on this forum , foot launch remains the most popular
You are an advanced pilot and so therefore our smaller coastal sites are for gooning with your single  surface , however , jervis to ladybay and tunk offer coastal and inland opportunities more suited to your Litespeed
XC north of adelaide you really need to just hang out with the keen few crew who still foot launch and ground tow at various sites
Our site guide is a valuable source of  information for you but you can't beat word of mouth
To others I can recommend Boris as a friendly keen chap worthy to be included in any social flying disciplines , very experienced in XC

Welcome to SA

Cheers steve pap

Welcome to SA Boris,

I also fly hg/ XC, tow/ aerotow sometimes & have powered harness.
I've done a fair bit of exploring for potential sites over the years.
I might be able to give you an idea for a potential site or 2 near
your area if you email me off-list on pbolt at ozemail.com.au

Ciao,

Pebo

I'll never forget that eye-popping, anal-puckering flight at Tunbridge,
Boris! It's one of those standout memories! Look forward to flying with
you again!
