Hello All,

It's almost that time for the Sahana Community Call (This reminder is coming out a bit early because I got my dates crossed and thought that it was next week - it's actually the week after!)
The agenda's up on: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DgvvIOgvmjob7TQ5Erdud--oe-mxm1eVYZ1hkElqiD8/edit Feel free to and anything extra.

I'm hope that we can talk more about the Sahanathon (http://eden.sahanafoundation.org/wiki/Event/2012/Sahanathon) which we talked about in the Sahana Eden Community Meeting. I think that it could also be good to talk more about volunteer roles - what needs to be done and who's keen to help and I also believe that we might have some new members of the Sahana Software Foundation to welcome by then! It would also be great if any of the GCI students would like to join, and although there's no task for it now, if someone wanted to take minutes too!

The call will be hosted on the WebEx infrastructure donated by Cisco. The links are listed above, but the full details, including how to dial in, has also been sent to this list and is included below.

I've posted all details about the Sahana community call up on:
http://wiki.sahanafoundation.org/doku.php/community:call

Please let me know if you have any questions or if I've missed anything, otherwise looking forward to talking with all of you in just over a week! I'll send out a reminder at the end of next week!

Cheers

Michael -

Apologies if this question is answered elsewhere.

Which meeting is the first Wednesday of the month?
I thought that was the community call, but obviously that's not correct.

And what is the difference between that meeting and this meeting?

Thanks,
Avni

Eden Community Meeting held on IRC

This is the SSF-wide Community meeting on WebEx

I know it's confusing.

A key difference is that the Eden meeting has some technical
discussions, although it's not just technical.

If we look at the Eden agenda:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OwHY58QH4tyl4ogQMdx6jgGn2mSSMAX83k4OEoILBjk/edit?hl=en_GB

Then we see that 2 out of 3 of these agenda items are also on the
agenda for this SSF call.
In the case of the Volunteers part, I guess this is at least partly as
many of the volunteer roles identified there are perhaps best done
SSF-wide and many are already advertised on the SSF wiki.
I'm not sure why the Sahanathon is being discussed here - I guess just
to advertise it more widely. The scope at the moment is clear & purely
Eden. If other projects wish to hold an event at the same time with
the same name, then that would be fine, in which case the advertising
of the event should advertise both aspects. I do worry that this will
make it confusing, but this is the price we pay for diversity...

Hello,

I must apologize, but due to failures in both my primary and back up alarms (the call is at 5am for me) and incorrect times in the Sahana Meeting Google Calendar I'm not sure that today's call went ahead (there were no comments in the log.

Fortunately we still have another call on Tuesday, so I look forward to talking with you all then.

Cheers

Michael

Hello All,

Just a quick update about the Sahana Community Calls this month:
  • Sunday March 11th 2000 UTC (NOTE: This time has changed as no on, myself included, made it last time)
  • Tuesday March 13th 0300 UTC

Everyone's welcome to join and I'd highly encourage some of our new members to come along. I'm sure the topics of discussion will include the upcoming Sahanathon and Google Summer of Code.

I'll send out all the other details over the weekend. I am wondering if people might be interested in trying out Google Hangout for the call instead of WebEx for the call? Any opposed to having video?

Hi  , It would be nice if more information is given about the community call  . Google hangout will be nice .
The slow connections and rusty video devices , Video calls an be chaos if connection speeds do not match .

Hello again,

It seems that there were a few technical details with Google Hangout (it doesn't seem to be easy to share a link to a Hangout & I'm not sure if everyone has a Google+ account), so let's switch back to WebEx for Tuesday's meeting - the details are below:

Look forward to talking with you then - it will be good to discuss the plans for Google Summer of Code and the up-coming Sahanathon.

Cheers

Michael
