Built w/o problems on Mac OS X (10.6.8, Dual 6-core Xeons).

First build on 10.8.4 (Quad core Core i7) blew up. I saved the results, re-installed the source tarball, and reran the build. It completed w/o problems.

All tests ('ptestlong') passed on each system!
