Sounds interesting to me. Hasn't this kind of idea was brought up before?
In any case, if it brings in money into Sage, great. I'm not sure how
workable a flat fee is, but I'm not much of a business person either.

> Subject: ICERM Unveils its Academic Sponsorship Program
> To:
> ICERM is happy to announce our "Academic Sponsorship Program". This
> program enables members to gain insight into cutting edge
> mathematical research from peer institutions and industry, apply what they
> learn from participation in ICERM programs to their own
> research efforts, support the training of a new generation of mathematical
> scientists, and enhance math education in a diverse community.
> Annual Membership is only $3,000 for US Institutions and $5,000 for
> International Institutions. The annual membership fee is allocated to
> support an institution's participation in ICERM programs and events. This
> money may be supplemented by ICERM funds.
> Applicants from member institutions will receive priority status for
> support at ICERM events and programs from these membership funds.
> *
> How it Works:*
> - Each academic member institute has an accumulating account at ICERM
> in which their annual membership fee is set aside for use towards
> ICERM-related activities.
> - Member institutions appoint a designated contact to communicate
> requests for these funds.
> - Members can access the available funds within two consecutive
> academic years. Unused funds after this period are not redeemable.
> *Members receive:*
> - Invitations to apply for ICERM programs and events;
> - Notification of ICERM news via email;
> - The opportunity to build collaborations that enrich research;
> - Public acknowledgment of support via ICERM's website and
> publications.
