Hello,

At the occasion of a week on "interaction between math and computing
science" in Marseille (February 2010) we aim to develop an enhanced
interface to Sage for a usage in secondary school. The rules we use
are approximately the following:
* avoid the oriented object syntax. "Important" mathematical tools
must be available as function (for example the roots command).
* reduce the namespace such that the <tab> completion really helps
(no more Elliptic Curve nor FastFourierTransform ;-)). We think about
using a system of "package" for special features (as maple do with the
"with" statement).
* write some help in english and french for polynoms, functions,
sequences, ...
* (last step) write some nice interactive worksheets as elementary
as possible

What will be included in the namespace is listed here:
http://wiki.sagemath.org/MathsAuLycee and corresponds approximately to
the secondary school program in France. I also opened a demo notebook
at : https://139.125.6.88:8001 that will evolve soon.

The work is in progress and there is a lot of problem to resolve. I
will be happy if I can have any suggestions for improvement, feedback
about the usage, functions needed...

Vincent
