R/rpy and SAGE

I saw some mention of interest in an R/rpy interface being developed
in this discussion:

If anyone has been working on it, please let me know - I'd like to
help as well. I'll start working on it next week at any rate.

I'm interested. Probably the first step is creating an r package
for SAGE. I've created one and put it here:

http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/was/r/

It requires fortran (g77) to build. Building it was quite easy and
took only 11 minutes, so it's actually not beyond the realm of possibility
to consider including R in SAGE.
