I have an Asus EEE PC 1000H running Ubuntu 8.10. Sage 3.4 fails to compile:

explaining the problem and send the relevant part of
of /home/carlo/sage/install.log. Describe your computer, operating system, etc.
If you want to try to fix the problem, yourself *don't* just cd to
/home/carlo/sage/spkg/build/gmp-mpir-0.9 and type 'make'.
Instead type "/home/carlo/sage/sage -sh"
in order to set all environment variables correctly, then cd to
/home/carlo/sage/spkg/build/gmp-mpir-0.9

Awesome. From the thread on the mpir list it looks like the bug has
been sorted out. I'm happy to test that the new version works in Sage
when it comes out.
