1. According to my Cat-Eye, the circuit was 2.35 km long. If one
refers to the map on:
http://homepages.tesco.net/~john.olson/BHPC/darleymoor.html
the circuit is pretty much flat from the start until just before
Park Corner, dips into the curve and is then gradually uphill
from there to The Hairpin. The Pope Straight is very slightly
downhill. The Hairpin can be negotiated by me at 20 mph, and
presumably flat-out by Steve "No Fear" Slade.
2. Surface ranges from "billiard table" to "crash-bang-wallop-ouch".
3. Races were for 45 minutes plus one lap.
4. Ian Chattington retired after losing his chain at the start and
then having something jam up in the transmission once he'd got
going again. Plus he looked very uncomfortable in the shoulder
area, due to the (lack of) width of the fairing.
5. Bob Knight retired when the main joint on his Speedy came unstuck.
Relax, Mr. Dixon, it's a kit-built one...
6. I'm pretty sure these results are OK on position, but some of the
times may be a bit off. This has nothing to do with me and
everything to do with whoever was pressing the buttons on the
stopwatches...
