Digital Graphic Designer: eNews Online

Reporting to Head of UX and Design: eNews Online your key performance
areas include:

Design layouts, graphical interface elements and other digital assets
for a range of devices and applications including websites, mobile
websites, mobile and tablet apps, newsletters.
Work closely with journalists to create world-class interactive
infographics dealing with a broad range of newsworthy subject matter
Take rough sketches of wireframes, sitemaps and UX Processes and turn
them into high quality interactive designs
Assist with quality checks of design, layout and functionality of products
Handle graphics-related maintenance requests

Requirements
Sharp-eye for detail and an ability to produce beautiful and functional graphics
Superior skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and other related Creative
Suite Software
An understanding of the constraints and possibilities of various
online interactive platforms
Good knowledge of image formats and optimisation techniques
Good working knowledge of HTML/CSS and other web technologies
Superior knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques
A good understanding of layout design, user experience and usability
Skills in Flash and/or other animation packages would be beneficial
At least three years’ experience as an interactive designer in an
online environment, preferably in online news media
Broadcast design experience would be beneficial but not essential
A tertiary design qualification of at least two years, ideally
including interactive and/or web design
Must be able to produce work of a consistently high standard under
tight deadlines, often multitasking and working under pressure
A drive to learn and develop through constructive criticism and feedback
Passionate about all aspects of interactive and digital design
