Hi All,

I've recently read chapter 1 of LukeW's book on form design and
created a new blog post for it at http://saltinteractive.co.za/

I'd appreciate it if you would give me your thoughts and feedback on
the topic here on the groups.

Thanks ;)

UX Myth 1:
I can assume that research results found on website A is applicable on website B.

Fascinating article. I can see how users can get 'registration fatigue' - there are just so many interesting apps out there now to try and play with - and many require a reg form completion. I don't shop a lot on the web, but I definitely have 'registration fatigue' too from trying out various online apps for design inspiration purposes.
Perhaps we have reached a tipping point and it may no longer be OK to ask users to register without scaring more and more of them away. From the discussions we have had about registrations in our office this morning I feel this may just be a trend to look out for in future. People here complained about the exact same things the users in the article complained about.
Franz

People could be tired of signing up to so many different sites an hope they all respect privacy. Every time I sign up, you ask the questions: Why do they need all my details? Will they spam me? Will they give my details out? What we need is a VISA for signing into websites. People want an integrated (convenient) world. Don't think Facebook is it.
