BREAKING NEWS: Pectoral Sandpipers in Port Elizabeth

Gregg Darling has been in touch to let me know that he has located 2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS at the Mondplaas Ponds near Port Elizabeth this morning. As you drive in along the main causeway, they were apparently about halfway down the causeway on the left hand side.

Paul Martins has also informed me that a single PECTORAL SANDPIPER was present at the Tankatara Salt Pans also in Port Elizabeth yesterday. Unfortunately, access to this site is a little difficult to arrange, so most twitchers might be keener on trying for the Mondplaas birds.
