I have booked a flight to Gerona (from Weeze in Germany). I booked for a friend with the name Karin van de Braken. Now it seems that her name is Carin van den Braken. I would like to correct the name while checking in online. This seems not possible, so I tried to do this with managing my booking, but then it seems that it is only possible when I pay 100 euros extra. Is it really true that Ryanair charges 100 euros for changing two letters, or am I missing something ?

Yours sincerely,

Absolutely ! I have been flying with Rip off air for years and they will screw you over for every little cent. You will have done incredibly well if you can get away without paying. Your best strategy is to ring their normal number in Ireland rather than make the change online and try to reason with those scumbags. You can obtain their regular (not premium rate number) from the excellent UK website www.saynoto0870.co.uk  If they wont do it and to try and mitigate your loss how about putting that down to experience and booking another flight for hopefully less cost. Good luck en groeten !

Gerard, I agree with 'MD'. Once this mistake has been made, and I
suspect you must have keyed the wrong letter when booking, there's no
way on earth you'll correct it unless you're Michael O'Leary's
grandmother. Cut your losses and book another flight. The message
is......double check all spellings at the time of booking a passenger.
Also, even more important is to treble check the passport details you
input during on-line check-in. I've seen passengers reduced to tears
when turned back at the gate because of a single letter or digit wrong
on the boarding pass. You've got to remember one
thing ..............Ryanair is a totally heartless airline. Although
just as in any walk of life there are lots of potentially nice staff
in the organisation, the character of the boss inevitably percolates
down to the workers. And Michael O'Leary wouldn't even give you, as
the old saying goes, the 'drippin's' off the end of his nose.
Pete
