I did have one question you could probably answer. How do the college
baseball clubs work? Do players pay for all associated costs ie
travel, equipment, hotels, etc. I have heard yes and no from two
different coaches here.

> Subject: District Tournament Game 1 Vs Minico
> Last night was a good game all around. The whole team played well.
> Things were close though until the end. Russell went 2 for 3 from the
> plate with a fly out, a walk, a double and a 2 RBI single near the
> end. He also came in and pitched the last two innings, allowing no
> runs. The Russets ended up winning 9-2 and play the championship game
> tonight at 7pm.
> Here is an excerpt from the Post Register about the game:
> "With an early 3-0 lead, Gardner went into cruise control on the
> mound. The Russets' ace surrendered just three hits and no runs
> through the first five innings.
> "We got a good effort from Ryan Gardner," Horne said. "He did a good
> job, he threw seven innings for us, you know and he did a great job.
> So overall, we did a pretty good job defensively too."
> Eventually, however, Minico began to wear down Gardner in the sixth
> inning. A throwing error in the infield scored two and suddenly Minico
> had cut the Russets' lead in half.
> But that didn't seem to scare Gardner, who finished out the sixth and
> continued to dominate in seventh before Russell Phillips relieved him
> in the eighth. Phillips carried on the solid performance from the
> mound for the Russets by shutting out Minico in the final two innings.
> "Russell came in and he did an awesome job for us. He's been ending
> them for us pretty much the whole season. I felt like he came in and
> he did what we asked him to do," Horne said."- Hide quoted text -
