I dont give my pluses or minuses, anyway Thomas Fuchs is too into Rails as I know. He recently did a talk on a new animation library, Emilie http://mir.aculo.us/2009/11/07/a-50-lines-of-code-javascript-animation-framework-say-hello-to-emile/

if anyone interested i will be glad to do a session on it, yet not next week though. lol

Cheers

Unlike comparing two editors like Emacs and Vi where the answer is
obviously Emacs, you might have to do some digging around. First do a
rough feature comparison to see what you expect from the library is
actually there. Then you might wanna google around a bit "jquery vs
scriptaculous". After that write a couple of samples from each library
to get a feel which one feels natural to you. I don't think there'll
be a huge difference 'cos it's all JavaScript.

Just my $ 0.02.

Bye,
