Description: Discussion group for users and developers of the RubyCAS-Client and RubyCAS-Server.

flag The future of RubyCAS
It's been six years, and to be honest I'm a bit surprised at how much pickup RubyCAS has received. Then again maybe I shouldn't be. There's a definite need for centralized, institutional web single sign on, and RubyCAS fills that niche nicely. At the time when I first released RubyCAS-Sever, the only real alternative was Jasig's Java-based server,... more »

Issues attempting to use proxy ticket authorization
Hey All, I'm kinda at a loss at the moment with my issues. I'm not sure how well this forum is monitored but I'm hoping someone can help me. First, here's my setup: - Multiple web applications of varying types are deployed onto one Tomcat server (some written in jruby, some in grails, some in pure Java with... more »

Using your own login form
Hey all, After struggling with it for the better part of two days, I finally got a working version of my own login form authenticating against the RubyCAS server. It's really simple once you figure it out, but coming up with the correct flow was killing me ;) Anyway, I did a quick write up describing how I did it if anyone is... more »

Seeking New Maintainer for rubycas-client
*As I have watched the rubycas community grow over the past few months, I am encouraged to see fresh passion come in. It has also made me aware that I am starting to hold the rubycas-client back. I have been dealing with on-going health issues this past year that have prevented me from putting in much time to continue to move the project forward. Thus, I am officially... more »

httpd, passenger, uri_path not working
I'm attempting to run rubycas via apache on a sub-uri (/cas). I've configured httpd like this: RackBaseURI /cas <Directory "/var/www/html/cas"> Options -MultiViews </Directory> /var/www/html/cas symlinks to /usr/share/rubycas-server/publ ic Without uri_path configured in config.yml, the page loads without... more »

RubyCas-Server with Central Application to manage Users and Access
Hi, I read a lot of different threads about RubyCas-Server but i can't find the best way to do it properly, let me explain : We want to implement RubyCas-Server for a SSO with LDAP into our organization but we want also manage users and their access through all applications available. So first we think to modify RubyCas-Server and add... more »

Security and allowed services
I'm curious what people are doing to limit what services can be authenticated through CAS. I've noticed that JASIG CAS server does service authorization <[link]>through a Service Management <[link]> admin... more »

setup.rb and urbacon theme?
I'm curious if anybody knows of any reason to keep the setup.rb file<[link]>around. I can't seem to find any reason it would be needed with the current installation procedures, but maybe I'm missing something.... more »

Using CAS for API endpoints
I'm looking into options for extracting the authentication logic from several applications (mostly Rails). I remember CAS from a previous job (indeed, I wrote a Rack middleware for CAS authentication a while back: [link]) and would to use it if possible. The problem is that each of the apps needs to... more »

Optimazation for indeces
Hey, I already pushed once a commit back to the project to add indexes for performance, but today we ran into another bottleneck on Rubycas. Seems you need to add indexes on the date columns as well because the CAS runs into bottleneck issue shere with table look ups. Just a tid bit for people running into performance issues. Will provide more info once I have it available.... more »
