rails caching of AMF?

has anyone found a way to cache the AMF response of Controller's
action? AFAIK, the built-in Rails caching physically writes out .html
files to disk and serves those as MIME text/html when the cache is
being used.

This is something we want to look into. Probably supporting memcache
to start with and moving forward with other options afterwards.
