Hello. I am currently working on my Ruby and Rails skills and I am planning to get some exposure as soon as I am confident enough to apply for a job. Anyway, what are the most important things about software development and RoR itself, that I need to take in mind in order to be a good and professional developer. Thank you.

Read, understand, and apply the topics from the Pickaxe book.

Don't just memorize the jargons.  You should know them by heart and understand how these are implemented in code.
