Hi everyone,

Payroll Hero would like to host the next PHRUG meetup this coming Thursday here in our office at the 14th floor, 4th Avenue corner 27th street, Picadilly Star building , The Fort Global City. Doors open at 6:00 PM. 

Suman Mukherjee, our import from India, will be doing a talk on Backbone JS.

If you're interested in learning, you might want to try an ongoing free online class now in saas-class.org. You still have a week finish the first assignment (which isn't really hard).

Actually though it discusses RoR, the SaaS class is not a Ruby on Rails course - the authors/presenters themselves said that.  Though it does give students a good foundation on what it takes to create a scalable and long lasting app.  For a free but in-depth introduction to rails, try railstutorial.org (it's a free online book with option to buy pdf version and screencasts).

Sorry if it sounded like I was suggesting it was a course about RoR. I just figured it suits a beginner to take a course that sort of tours him around some of the common tools used by web devs, not just RoR. Anyway, marrrk, just come and ask anyone for help if you need it. :)
