It's ok to join May 28 even if you can't join May 19.
You can find teammates through this list, or on May 28 itself.
You're highly encouraged to join May 19, though.
First, because the May 19 venue is just a few floors above the May 28
venue. You'll know where to go and how to get there if you join May
19.
Second, it's easier to find teammates you'd like to work with when you
meet them face to face.
BTW, you're not required to code only on May 28. If you have an idea
and have the time to work on it, you can start coding if you like.
Unless of course you like to do it strictly Rails Rumble style, in
which case you'll just prepare specs and mockups and do R&D and
practice on the gems you're going to use but do actual coding only on
May 28.
