One of these is 'Rip' (http://github.com/defunkt/rip), which has a
fairly elegant way of making code available and solving dependency
issues.
I've done a bit of work on this, particularly getting it to work with
Rubygems, and so I can probably give an overview of what it is, how
it's different from Rubygems, how you can get started with it, and
problems it still has.
Alternatively, somebody else might want to run with this idea - if so,
I'm happy to help and share what I know.

I would love to hear this talk. Having recently suffered some
discomfort trying to run parallel sets of gems for MRI and JRuby it
would be great to hear more about what sounds like a really clean
approach to managing multiple environments.
