I want to add memcached to a project that has already been vulcanized. I used rubber:add_role and recreated the instance.
But memcached is not being started when the instance comes up.  Monit doesn't even know about memcached.

Do I need to rerun the vulcanize script?  Am I missing something?

[running 1.1.4]

Thanks,

Yes, you need to vulcanize using the memcached template, add the role, and rubber:bootstrap to get stuff installed for that role.
./script/generate vulcanize memcached
If you run vulcanize without any arguments, you can see all the templates available, some of which are aggregates of others.

For memcached you also need to setup rails with a memcached client - the generator adds a config file as an example, but depending on your client, you may need to tweak it.
