I uploaded two files: a first rough draft and references.
There is to much work pending:
1. The tables for strategies and indicators have heading only in the
first page. How can we add headings in the other pages?
2. Images are needed
3. What is our conclusion?
4. We do not have strategies and indicators for some sites.
5. Some paragraphs are completely disconnected. So, we need to read
carefully the whole document to make sure that every thing is related
each other.
6. We have a list of references but we used different styles:
homogeneity?
7. I designed a table of contents but I am not sure if it is the right
one.
8. What about the title? I proposed one but, please, feel free to make
changes.
Francisco, thank you for uploading the document. I am going to go ahead and start editing rough draft. When I am done I will upload the new draft. Once the new document is uploaded those who still need to add their parts can do so and either Ata or I could do a final edit.
Hopefully this works. If anyone has a better suggestion let me know.

Jessica, when you upload a new draft, I'll go ahead and do my edits/final edits and upload again. If anybody wants to add any text, go ahead and e-mail me.

Not sure if the final version of my section was added, so I'm attaching it here just in case. it has the corresponding image numbers. Thanks again for editing.

Regarding our conclusion, we can use Mike's conclusion, perhaps adapt something to make it suitable to our economic/community report. Mike's conclusion is attached to this email. The other group uses this too but changed a bit.

...OK, but who is able to adapt this conclusion? Is anybody willing and able to prepare our concluding ideas based on our document and Professor Ruane text?
In addition, I noticed that we do not have appendices. Do we?
About the design of our document. Did you see the Affordable Housing Team document? How can I do something like that regarding the "front page"? In general, how can we improve the design of the document?
Kawin: just to confirm the logistic about the CD. Are you providing us with the CD or do we need to buy one?

I'll attempt writing the conclusion--where can I find Ruane's text? If someone can send me that, I'll get started.
If we need blank CDs, I have some and will keep them on me tomorrow.
Regarding the Affordable Housing document, we can make a title page like the one in that report using Adobe Illustrator or even Word--since I have Illustrator, I'll go ahead and make a sample cover page to make our report look like "professional consultant" material.
Francisco or anyone else for that matter--any ideas on a title? Send me some ideas and I'll put that in; if not, that's okay, I'll just come up with one.
Also, I'm planning on using Calibri Size 12 font throughout to keep it uniformed, and will make sure we have a standard header/footer.
Hopefully I can come up with something for you all to look at in the morning and provide feedback...
What's the schedule tomorrow, are we meeting before?

Ata, The document is too large to attach to the email, I have uploaded it to our group page. I edited grammar and sentence structure the best I could. I also added Kawin and Courtney's pictures into the document. I think what is most needed now is formatting and basically making the document look professional. Also, thank you for doing the conclusion. I haven't seen Ruane's conclusion and don't know where to find it.
To the rest of the team, The high lighted areas within the document are areas that are incomplete. They include the following:
1.3.1.3 Anaheim (pg 12) Imagae site plan area between talbert st & slater st (pg 36) 1.3.2.4 Aliso Viejo (pg 38) List of Green-Specific Financing Used in Nueva Vista Family Housing (pg 47) 2.2.1.2 Anaheim (pg 48) 2.2.1.3 Fullerton (pg 48) 2.2.1.4 Santa Ana (pg 48) 2.2.2.4 Aliso Viejo (pg 50) 3.1.2 Strategies and Indicators for Anaheim (pg 54) 3.1.3 Strategies and indicators for Fullerton (pg 54) 3.2.4 Strategies and indicators for Aliso Viejo (pg 63) Conclusion (pg 66)
If these are you section, please insert them into the appropriate spaces as soon as you can. Thank you!

I'll be at work until 5p, where I can't access Gmail, so I wanted to let you know that I have a copy of the document and I'm making edits and formatting changes to it now an will be doing so at work, too.
When I get back home I'll upload the final edited document. If you need to get a hold of me, you can e-mail me at ak...@lbschools.net, or call/text 909/657.8807.

...my schedule today is really hard, but I am willing to help with doing whatever you need.
Ata and Jessica, go ahead with your own suggestions about fonts, design, style, and the like. From 2 to 3 pm I have a break and I will try to read the full document (last version with all the issues pointed out by Jessica) if it is available.
I am still thinking about how we can add heading in the columns of the strategies-indicators tables. If you try to read that section, you can identify what each column is about in the first page, but after the first page, it is hard to follow what we are suggesting. I was thinking in trying the same tables in excel, but it will take too much time. If we find a solution with Word, it could be better....What do you think?

We will meet with the other group tonight, most possibly at 6.30. I'll confirm you the exact time later. If you can't make it at 6.30 (some of you might be busy with editing the report and I very much appreciate that), that's fine. At least some of us should be able to attend the meeting.
For what we're gonna discuss during the meeting, refer the Chris's message below:
can we meet tonight at 6:30? we need to agree on the exact content of the presentation (how many opportunity sites to address and in what detail), set up a time line for completion of the presentation slides, and agree on who will be in charge of working with the community sus group to format and design the presentation.
also, the affordable housing group is presenting and i think mike expects us to attend that.

This is to comfirm that we will have the meeting with the other group at 6.30pm tonight in room 315 as usual. I do hope that some of us will attend the meeting so that we will have an agreement between the two groups that we're all happy.
Ata and Jessica, if you need a blank CD with a case, I have ones and you can see me in the back lab. If you already have ones, please let me know.
The affordable housing team will be presenting at 7pm. I'm not sure what time we're gonna submit our CD (report) to Mike as he will be in the presentation. We'll see.

So I've edited and formatted the document, newest draft is uploaded as "SCS_Final_Draft_1.1." There are still some gaps. We're missing a few tables (that are found in Section 3) and a few "Goals" for individual sites. For example, I didn't realize I should have created a separate table for my key findings from Aliso Viejo, so I need to spend some time making that.
I think we all have this information for each of our sites, but might not have been able to get in the format found in the document. Another kink I'm working out is the pagination on the Table of Contents, because it's auto-formatted, and to number the tables/figures (I'm waiting on everything to be filled in before numbering). Other than that, most everything is good to go, but if I had to guess, I'd say this is only an 85% complete document.
I'd really like if we had some more time to spend editing and getting a single tone throughout the document and making sure all our figures are numbered properly. At any rate, we can show this to Ruane for the time being.

If you haven't figured out how to add the header rows to each page of the tables yet, Ken found out how. First, highlight the header row of the first page of the table, then click 'Layout' tab and click 'Repeat Header Rows'. You're gonna do this for every table (one site has one table, but several pages).
I'll let you know about about presentation contents and responsibilities soon.

According to Professor Ruane, the new deadline is this Thursday, 5 pm. So, I suggest:
1. Please provide Ata and Jessica with the pending information about our sites, today. 2. Let Ata and Jessica to focus on design. The rest of the group can focus on content, I mean, once we have the complete document (hopefully tomorrow morning), we need to read carefully the whole text, trying to identify our key arguments. So, what we need to do is to make sure that we have a "discourse" in our work...an original "discourse"...this "discourse" needs connectors between one section and the following one and some concepts or principles supporting our discourse. What we really have are just different pieces of information with certain order, but not an ARGUMENT...not a "discourse". As you can see, the introduction I suggested anticipates some thoughts in that direction (to make an argument). We need to take ourselves out of the team and try to be a "jury". What is the purpose of this document? What are the key points those guys are trying to communicate? There is something new in this proposal or is it just the same information I have read in different websites?, Is this proposal really useful for me or Orange County?, etc. 3. If we review the document in this way, we could prepare a five-paragraph Summary (I am suggesting a summary) with the key ideas of our discourse and we could also improve our conclusions. I think all these things will facilitate the work of our presenters and enhance the quality of our work. What do you think?
