I've written a short book review on the Simon Grant book:

Electronic Portfolios: Personal Information, Personal Development and
Personal Values.

Together with this book review I've added a link to the recent study
on the role of e-portfolios in formative and summative assessment
practices’ by a team led by the Centre of Recording Achievement, is
now available from: http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/programmes/elearning/eportfolios/studyontheroleofeportfolios.aspx

All of the above can be found on my latest blog post :

An interestingly I've just come across a new post >>> This is
pitching eportfolio development in the same vein as VLE rollout?
Could we see more of these posts appearing up and down the country?
Hope so :O)

Please see below for details of a new post at the University of Surrey
(the position is fixed term to 31 July 2011) :
This is an opportunity to join the team responsible for the
development and implementation of PebblePAD, the University's chosen e-
Portfolio software. This fixed term post will deliver expert support
for the implementation and roll out of the e-Portfolio across the
University. This is a new role, established following completion of a
pilot project to evaluate its effectiveness as a means to develop
student reflective practice in relation to PDP. The intention now is
to promote and develop the use of the e-Portfolio more widely.

The post-holder will act as a first line of support for staff and
students as use of the e-Portfolio develops. This will involve
developing and running workshops for students and staff in conjunction
with the PDP Coordinator. The role will require liaison with staff and
students from a wide range of academic departments.

In addition to providing staff and student support for development,
the post holder will provide administrative back up connected with the
addition of new groups of students and associated development of
content.

You will have a degree, or equivalent in a relevant specialist
subject, or significant vocational experience. You are likely to have
a professional qualification and/or previous experience of teaching,
skills development or e-learning. You will be aware of current
developments in learning technologies and/or web based learning and
have had experience of supporting learning, preferably at HE level.
You will also be aware of personal development planning and skills
development, preferably at Higher Education level.

Please apply online or download an application pack from www.surrey.ac.uk/jobs
or contact Emma Bolden on e.bo...@surrey.ac.uk or 01483 682021 for an
application pack, quoting the appropriate reference number.
