Hello,

i was experimenting with RPX API using free account but my client has
already purchased the one year license.

I think there is some problem with facebook login.

This is the scenario:

1. User is not logged in to facebook
2. User go through your widget and selects facebook, allows publishing
and 'token' is posted back to token_url
3. I login the user to my site.
4. User logs out from my site but he is still logged in to facebook
5. User uses the login widget again and selects facebook to login.
6. Popup opens and closes and redirects to token_url but this time
'token' is not posted back to token_url.

Without the token there is no way to login the user.

I have only tested with facebook and yahoo. Yahoo works as expected. I
am not sure if there is going to be problem with other providers as
well. Please let me know what the problem is.

Thanks,
Sukhwinder Singh

Hello,

Please go here:

http://www.web-tech-india.com/rpx/rpx.html

1. Make sure you are logged out of facebook account before you test
this.
2. Click Sign In.
3. Click facebook and then login to facebook and permit access to
email etc.
4. You are redirected back to http://www.web-tech-india.com/rpx/rpx.php
and results received are shown.
5. Click dummy logout button.
6. Click facebook again and go through the process. Popup will open
and close as you are already logged in to facebook. But this time when
redirect happens nothing is posted back to rpx.php

I can send you the files I am using. I have tested with yahoo, google
and twitter too (I think) and problem was not there for those
accounts.

I fixed with this response to another facebook problem:

-----
Try this:
Go to you Facebook
application, click "Edit Settings", select "Migrations" on the left
column and toggle "New Data Permissions" to disabled. That should do
the trick.

In your own case it might have solved the problem but we cannot ask
users to do what you are suggesting.

I have the same problem. How did you fix it?

Thanks

I didn't find any solution and rpx people didn't fix it. So we didn't use rpx. Client wasted $100.

Yes, rpx should have responded earlier. 22 days!!!. Even though
'tonio' above suggested the same solution but it was not quick/clear
enough.

And I don't think this solution given on other page works but you can
give it a try:

1) Go to: http://www.facebook.com/developers/
2) Click on your application
3) Click "Edit Settings"
4) Click "Migrations"
5) Set "New Data Permissions" to Disabled
6) Save your application

The above solution does work with facebook. I just tested. I have
tested google, yahoo and one other and it works.

I wish I had gotten the response within 1-2 days and would have used
RPX. RPX people just bothered to say that they couldn't reproduce it
and nothing after that.

I hope this helps someone else.
