Greetings,
One of the long standing traditions for RPG Bloggers has been the RPG Blog Carnival. The Carnival quite simply is a where one site hosts the Carnival for one month with a set topic. Then other blogs write posts relating to that topic and then post comments on the host site's including the post URL. In general, it's a great way to increase traffic between the various participant sites.
The Carnival has been going since 2008, but my personal involvement was not until sometime in 2009. At that time, the RPG Blog Carnival Archive was maintained in the Google Groups. When Google Groups dropped the ability to have pages, Nevermeet Press hosted the Archive. Recently, Nevermeet Press has announced that it will be shutting it's doors for reasons that I think we all can understand and relate to. This left the Carnival Archive in need of a new home. At the RPGBA, we decided that we could easily host the archive, and so we officially announce that you can now find the Carnival Archive at http://wiki.rpgba.org/doku.php?id=blogcarnival .
Never fear, the RPG Blog Carnival is still it's own separate thing. One does not have to be a member of the RPGBA (or any other group for that matter) to participate. Although currently, the only way signup to host a month is to send an email to the RPG Bloggers Google Group, rpgbl...@googlegroups.com . That is something that we may need to talk about in the future.
There are things of course that you can do to help the RPG Blog Carnival. We are currently looking for topics and hosts for the next several months. We especially would like a host and a topic for August. So if you have either, please send an email to RPG Bloggers Google Group listed above. Even if you have neither, you can watch for a host announcement and then participate in the Carnival. Remember that when you participate in the Carnival, then everyone that does wins.
