Thank you all for bearing with us. After going through 6 proposals (7 if you count the Indian spam), we have made our decision over who will be taking over the RPG Bloggers Network.
Duane's proposal was chosen unanimously among the 4 of us after a hidden vote and much discussion. His proposal was based on ideas that we ourselves had wanted to implement to provide a better user experience for both bloggers and readers, with the coding expertise to back it up. It keeps our vision for the RPGBN intact while moving it forward in new directions. It makes the transition process a smooth and easy one for all the members who don't keep up with all of our workings to suddenly find that everything had changed and more was expected of them. Additionally, it was a good compromise between several of the other proposals, incorporating better technologies to make it run more smoothly and involving the community to a much greater extent to give members a bigger say. Overall, we were very impressed with the proposal: I know I'm being vague here, but I want to leave all the details for Duane to reveal himself so I don't steal his thunder or get anything wrong.
Over the next few weeks, ideally sooner rather than later, we'll be working with Duane to move everything to his servers and hand off all the assets of RPGBN, and trying to have as smooth a transition as possible (though you may notice some hiccups and downtime.) We'll be passing along our suggestions based on our experiences running the network and considering his proposal, and I assume he'll begin a dialog with everyone here for your input going forward.
For me personally, I have offered my services to Duane as an adviser but am stepping back majorly from any of the day to day operations or leadership. I had a few arrangements in the works that I would like to see come to fruition to help RPG bloggers, yet I don't want to step on any toes going forward. Phil, Danny, and Graham also are deciding on their own future involvement level.
As many of you know, RPG Bloggers Network was initially my baby, starting as a feed aggregator named GATO in a subdirectory of Critical Hits, that turned into a way to connect with a few of the other blogs that were all linking to each other anyway (starting with Chatty DM and Critical Ankle Bites, then expanding to our other blog friends Stupid Ranger, Dungeonmastering, Geek's Dream Girl, Uncle Bear, Living Dice, and more). Then we opened it up to the world, advertising on our own sites and wherever we could, and it just exploded from there.
So I can't help but be a little sad to be stepping away from it all, given how it all grew and given the many, many hours of work I (and all of my esteemed board members and great friends) put into it. Still, I think it's going to be for the best overall, both for me personally and the network, putting it into the hands of Duane to take it to the next level, and I look forward to seeing where it all goes next.
If anyone needs to reach me directly, you can feel free to email me (d...@critical-hits.com), tweet me (@DaveTheGame), or visit me on my first RPG blogging love that Danny and I intend to devote more time to, Critical-hits.com.
And one final thing, I cannot thank enough my good friends who have done so much on this project: Danny, Phil, and Graham, you guys are awesome. I look forward to working with you all on the Next Big Thing, as well as with the many great people I've met through the network. Thank you all!
Sincerely, Dave Chalker Co-Founder and Former Executive Director, RPG Bloggers Network

Thank you all. I'm in the process of putting together a response that
will give a little more insight into what's down the line. But you
can be assured that the RPGN isn't going anywhere.

I'm late to the game on this, but congrats to Duane. Dave, Phil, Danny
& Graham - I'm sad to see you go as leaders of this here thing we
love, but I'm excited to see what Duane is able to do with this next
phase of the RPGBN.
And, Dave & the gang - thank you for doing everything you have to make
this transition transparent and relatively painless. A few weeks ago
it looked like this could get very ugly indeed, and that we might lose
the RPGBN (and the community around it) altogether. That the network
came out the other side, strengthened (I think) by the addition of the
Role Play Media Network (thanks, Berin), is a credit to the (now
former) leadership, and everyone who voiced ideas and worked together
to find a good solution.
Those of y'all who know me know that RPG blogging is not my first
priority (GOLD is), and that I'm not even an official member of the
RPGBN (tho Dave was kind enough to link to GOLD on the RPGBN front
page). But I'm a rabid consumer of what the network has to offer, and
I sure am glad to know that it will continue.
Thanks again to everyone involved, and good luck to Duane.
