Hi there,

I just looked on the what seems to me very great refactor and enhancement work by Alpstein who forked the trunk source at github (https://github.com/Alpstein/route-me).
Even the samples are updated.
Here are quoted the changes :

Changes in this clone (Alpstein/route-me)
-----------------------------------------
* RMMapView and RMMapContents have been merged into one file
* Tile cache refactoring
* Tile source refactoring (asynchronous tile downloads)
* Numerous performance improvements
* Markers have been refactored into a MKMapView-like system, with annotations and on-demand markers
* Requires at least iOS 4.0

 What's your feeling about theses changes ? Have someone already tried this code ?
Alpstein are you reading this mailling-list ?

My feeling is that this maybe merged in the trunk for a new 0.6 release if there are positive feedbacks here and Alpstein agree.

Best regards,
Vlad.

Hello,

We'd be very happy if people find the changes useful, but a word of
caution seems necessary:
We have changed quite a lot in route-me, and we actually removed some
stuff which we simply didn't need (that's why most of the tile sources
are yet missing). Projects using the 0.5 release would need to be
upgraded, but I think the changes would be rather trivial (see the
sample code).
Also, the annotation system works but is not yet as good as we would
like it to be. On the other hand, most of the code is used in our own
products and I think it is quite stable.

So, if you think that these changes are the way to go, we'd be very
happy if our clone would become the base of a new route-me release!

Best regards,
Thomas Rasch

I think its a great idea.   Also if we could pull in some of the work to RMPath that Michael Tyson has done, changes/fixes from Mapbox and others that would be awesome as well.
