There are many example rolls from trivial to very complex integrations of
software.

Dear Sergio,
you should look into:
/opt/gridengine/default/spool/ qmaster/messages
for some hints of what might be the problem.
And yes it should work out of the box, and if you want to use the
scheduler to submit jobs yes it is very critical.

sge should just work if not reinstall
what is the out put of
rocks list roll
if you want sge please do not add
condor and xen roll

Setting the attribute does enable x11 on the login node; I will use a post section during install of the front-end to make that the default for login appliances & remove the edge from login to x11.
As a possible bug, base.xml does this for a devel-appliance (edge to x11 and edge to client), so the same issue should happen with it.

Hi Brian,
Your observation about overriding is correct. The rocks graph parsing
does not support overrides.
To solve your particular problem, on the frontend, run
and then re-install the login appliances.

I'm having problems with conditional edges in my custom roll (Rocks 5.4.3). I'm trying to do 2 things: enable X11 on login nodes by default, and if GNOME is installed, make modifications via gconf to lock it down (screen saver, etc). My files are as follows (no access to source from email, so this is from notes):

Hi All.
I have httpd running on our login appliance node. Our login node has both the internal and external interfaces setup.
I like to make Ganglia display available on our login node through the login external interface.
What is the rocks process to do this?

After adding #$ -S /bin/bash, the shell error/warning went away. But the
mpi job still failed with the same mpi error.
My qsub script is very simple:
*#$ -S /bin/bash*
*#*
*#*
*# Export all environment variables*
*#$ -V*
*# specify the PE and core #*
*#$ -pe mpi 128*
*# Customize job name*
