I am not sure I understand the comment.This is supposed to call the Hardware Menu Button.this issue still happens from time to time.I use solo.sendKey(Solo.MENU);and the menu sometimes just does not display. Is there anyting I could check anywhere in logcat? a timeout? anything?

I think we need to do the following things,
to review your cases, make sure every time the issue happened on your running package.
I mean , your konw , the basement of robotium could be work is the mechanism of signature.
a signature just likes a key, and the running package likes a room.
so the crosspackage issue could not be resolved by now
for example, you're running the message app, and you want to add a pic in your message, so you trigger album app
then the crosspackage issue pop-up. just like I said, you have the key of message, you can control everything on message, but for the album, the only thing you can do is just looking the ablum through a window.
so the send key menu is not a method to trigger hardware menu key, it's just trigger the menu on your package, if you left your room, it's abusolutely doesn't wok.
