Early Ruby-crowned Kinglet

During a telephone conversation with my wife on Sunday, September 13 while I was still in Alaska, a male Ruby-crowned Kinglet showed up in the redbud just outside the den window where she was sitting. It "flashed" it's cap to show off, then foraged for insects for a bit before departing.
 
I am now back home, and while updating our property bird records realized that the date was very early (the earliest for our place, and a few days earlier than recorded in Barry Kinzie's regional guide.)
