I was being polite. What was said to me was that the book was so badly
written she couldn't finish reading it. It wasn't worth her time. I
didn't read your work so to assume that we won't run a review because
of what you say about our reviewers is absolutely false. Your attitude
now is just unprofessional and uncalled for and will get you nowhere
in getting press for your book.

No, to be polite you would have said that when you first learned of
it. The book is not supposed to be A Farewell To Arms or some other
great literary work. It's a book about real situations and I'm sure
the tight-ass that was supposed to review it was shocked by the
honesty and language.
I suppose everyone that has said, or written me, that the book is
interesting and a good read is just stroking my ego. Some have even
bought copies for their friends. I care not who likes it or doesn't.
If someone stops reading it, then an honest review can't be made. I
think you are lying and there has never been "she" that "tried" to
read it. Most can't put it down when they start, so I am told.
It has always been true what I said about the "reporters." All of you
hang in there because that is about the highest level of mediocrity,
The Roanoke Times, you can ever expect to attain in a career.
If, by getting press, you mean that yellow rag you work for, I think I
can work around it. I was in the advertising business in Roanoke
before it lost the majority of its subscribers. As I posted in Roanoke
News-Talk, most papers like it are called Pennysavers.
I know nothing I have ever written has been, or ever will be,
published after I accused the paper of being complaisant in the murder
of Earl Bramblett. They were part of the prosecution by printing
everything the police handed them without checking its accuracy.
Professional? Yeah, right! Talk to me about something you know.
