FYI...There will be a Town Hall Meeting Tuesday night March 18th at
6pm in the HUB meeting room. This will be a time to ask questions and
for council and myself to explain the transaction between Roane
Medical Center and Covenant Hospital. This has been a lengthy and
sometimes confusing process so we wanted everyone to feel good and
fully understand what has transpired. Hope to see everyone there!
Chris - I HOPE people who seem to want to put down almost anything
going on in the city, especially those who say they want to know
what's going on and why, will show up. I bet I know the answer - and I
bet a nickel that after the meeting is all over, when people wanna
bitch and moan about what went on because they don't understand it and
it's all a great dark secret, the loudest will be those who wouldn't
attend and find out for themselves.

It just doesn't get any better than this! I can't remember any mayor
ever holding a town hall meeting. But I fear RB is right the turn out
might not be so great but don't let that get you down. I'd be there
with bells on if I could.

Hey, Prissy... Don't forget the "town hall meeting" that a former
administration held at the High School Auditorium concerning the
creation of the "Hospital Authority"

And also one we held at the Hospital Annex when Mickey Bilbrey, then
with UT Hospital came down to explain the creation of an authority and
how it worked. I remember that one because of a quote from a rather
"radical" councilwoman who made the statement that "it wouldn't matter
what happened because the world wouldn't be here much longer anyway."

O. k . I forgot about that! I am not or have I been a radical
councilwoman. but i am radical old woman. Gloom and doom! News today
is frightening! Just call me Chicken Little the sky is falling! Put my
money in a fruit jar. BTW would that council member be Ms. Toddy-Da.
Just wondering

The Questions have/were asked in a gentlemanly fashion? Paiently
awaiting the answers? I Asked Chris these questons at the debate
before he was elected. He said if elected i will look into these? The
election is nearly a year ago now ? Just the facts please.

What did you ask him about Roane Medical Center during the debate that
he refused to answer? Could it have possbly been questions that he
didn't know the answers to until now? Seems there were a lot of
questions NOBODY knew the answers to until very recently.
I gotta be honest, Nosey. I know I aggravate people here. But you
confuse me - just when I get to thinkin all you're after is
reasonable, then you go and make comments like this. Then it seems to
me like what you're after is simply to discredit Chris Mason. Nothing
he says or does is good enough for you, it seems. So - I guess to keep
from dancing around it, I'll ask: Is that your purpose? Are you making
it your job to discredit Chris Mason and other current Harriman
officials? Do you honestly think in the "nearly a year ago now" that
you talk about he could fix everything about Harriman that pisses you
off? Tell me you're not "after" the Mayor and make me believe it,
cause I don't want to believe that of you.

We held our meeting last night, we were a "little light" in numbers
but had a good meeting nevertheless. All but one councilmember
attended and he was out of town and both newspapers were in
attendance. We discussed the pro's and con's for about an hour then
adjourned. Thanks to everyone that has not only attended but also
given input toward this situation over the past few months and as
usual call me with questions @ 865-388-4001 or email

I think the council made a good decision in hiring a specialist
attorney to handle the deal. He more than paid for his fee with the
changes he was able to negoiate thus saving or making the city money.
I want to say thanks for all the hard work and expecially the openess
that this administartion has shown.
I do like the idea of maybe offering/landing a Veteran's Outpatient
Clinic into the building once Covenant gets a new hospital built.
