Hip, Hip, Hooray for Peter Sharp.  It is good to hear that he has made it to Gunnison, safe and sound.

Please tell Peter Sharp "Hello!" from David Warfield.
I apologize for being incommunicado with him for so long.

And, best wishes to all my fellow RATs for continued safe journey all weekend long.

Just got home after several traffic jams amd 285 on fire.

Also had to transform my lag bolt shifter into a boot operated stick shift.

All,

Denise and I got home around 5:00pm. I-25 was closed at the Greenland exit 167 forcing all northbound traffic onto HWY 83.

I’m sad that I didn’t get to say goodbye to more of you guys this morning because I left so early to get across the bridge. I had a great time as always and enjoyed the rides and conversations. Good luck with your move to NE Bob and Denise!

Made it home at 3.45.After enduring the traffic back-up from hell in Fairplay,285 was closed in both directions due to a wild fire by Tiny Town!

Otherwise,in spite of some weather, great fun, good riding, seeing everybody and terrific to see Peter Sharp after all these years............

That’s crazy. I went 285 (sucked) and got home at 4:40. I took South Turkey Creek right past Tiny Town. Couldn’t tell anything was amiss.

Travis,

For those that didn’t attend, why were you using a lag bolt as a shifter? And how does a boot operated stick shift work?

This year it wasn’t Scouts that kept me away. I am in Nevada riding with my brother near Reno. Tomorrow we are doing Donner Pass. Please order your meals early.

I found out that riding an older bike that doesn't have ABS after riding my tiger for so long can bite you, so I lowsided it and broke off the shift lever. Doug, the super helpful resident of Lake City, helped me out with the use of his shop. The lag bolt worked until all the traffic jams where I jammed on it too hard and snapped it. I then took off the other part of the lever and put it sticking up so I could kick it with my boot to shift. Kind of like a mini suicide shifter.
