Great news! Due to a near record demand, the registration window for the 2013 Air Conditioned Eagle Encampment has been extended to June 4. There is still room to join this provisional style event – additional adult leaders from troops and crews are not needed.
The Air Conditioned Eagle Encampment is run by 45 experienced volunteer staff members who take a week of vacation to help Scouts on their trail to Eagle. There were 488 young men who earned the rank of Eagle in 2012 and many of those benefited by attending the encampment on their trail to Eagle. Please make your Scouts aware so they can get signed-up soon because Eagle Encampment now draws Scouts from across the country, and throughout Florida, not just the Central Florida Council. This year’s roster already includes participants from 38 zip codes.
Don’t miss this once-a-year opportunity.

Take note: Bring pages 13 and 14 (and if you registered via mail or at the Scout office, bring a copy of page 15) of the participant guide, filled out, with you. Note several signatures are required on page 13 and are necessary for admittance to camp.
Phone Interview: Each participant must complete an interview with Steve Eisinger as their final step for admittance. Towards that effort, they will be contacted by Steve Eisinger shortly following their registration using the information provided during registration. If participants have not heard from Mr. Eisinger within 7 days following their registration, please send him an e-mail at the address above.
Pre-Requisites: Pre-requisites work is necessary in order to achieve maximum success at Eagle Encampment. This means that participants will not leave the event with completed merit badges if the pre-requisites are not properly and thoroughly completed. Two of the merit badges offered require 90 day journals to be documented prior to check-in while all merit badges offered required some level of pre-requisite completion. Note, pre-reqs are not mandatory for admission to Eagle Encampment although the more, the better. Merit badge partials can be worked on by Scouts towards completion until the day before their 18th birthday.
In terms of close-out procedures on June 21, participants will be provided with their completed efforts via a report from TroopMaster on their final day at Eagle Encampment which should be submitted to their unit’s Advancement Chairman. Blue cards will not be issued, however blue cards will be updated if they are supplied at the start of camp on June 16.
