yesterday a friend was visiting and he had a Nokia handset running windows mobile.
I tried to look at three different radio2 based rivers and none of them would display the Json.
So the header and footer would show up, the wheel would spin then disappear and then....nothing.

I'm sorry I don't have more info or screenahots, but ill try to get those next time I have one of these handsets in my possession.

Is this a known issue with windows mobile?

The first thing that pops to mind is that he didn't have javascript enabled in the mobile browser.  Do you know if he checked that?

Yes, I did check. It was enabled, as were cookies etc.
I even tried downloading 'chromium' from the windows store, same result. I wish I had a phone to do some testing, but alas. It was also pretty rude I was tinkering with his phone during dinner for 45 mins :-)

btw, the rivers I checked were:

I downloaded the windows phone emulator and checked those sites.  Confirmed that rivers don't load.

Not sure why yet.  Just confirmation.

If you start a world outline page on this I can spread the link far and wide.

I've written a post here: http://winmobjson.curry.com/

Thanks in advance for the linkage!

I found the culprit.  The default river template is pulling in a pretty old version of jquery(v1.5).  If you change it to pull in a newer version (like 1.7.2) it starts working in the emulator.  Must be a mobile browser bug in that older version.

Here's a screenshot of my personal river working in the emulator after making the template change:  http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1028851/images/winphone_river_ss2.png

It did not work previously.

btw, Sorry for not putting this in a worknote.  My server is offline currently.  I'm trying to move it to wine1.4 on the new Ubuntu 12 LTS release on ec2.

Share the specific URLs you used that worked?

At the bottom of the template, change this:

to this:

BTW, I'm doing some work on the default template for rivers, because I want the menu to integrate with those from Radio2 and Scripting2, and had to bite the bullet and convert to Bootstrap 2.0.

In the process, I ripped out a lot of ancient stuff that were mysteries before, that I now understand well enough to know that if I took them all out it would probably work. And it did. :-)

As you can see there's a mysterious white space over the menu. Mysterious because I can't figure out where it comes from! :-)

If anyone has a clue, please let me know. I'm still a newbie at this stuff, just a little less so.
