OUTFRONT WALLA WALLA--EXPANDING OUR WELCOME

Friday, May 9th starting at 6PM with registration, 1st Congregational Church is holding an important conference exploring LGBTQ inclusion in Congregations.  Friday night at 7:00 pm we'll have a panel discussion entitled, "LGBTQ People in the Church and Synagogue Today."  On Saturday, May 10th at 10:00 am, Mary Ann Tolbert, PhD., a well known progressive Biblical Scholar, will be delivering her keynote speech, "The Bible Is Not the Enemy," in 1st Congregational's Sanctuary.  After lunch, two sets of workshops will be offered (a total of six options). The afternoon will conclude at 5:45 PM with a worship moment.  You can register at the conference or online at outfrontww.eventbrite.com.  For those wishing to eat, the meal costs are $20.00 for adults, and $10.00 for students, though institutions sending 5 or more receive half off.  There is no cost at all for those simply wishing to attend the lectures and workshops.

Mary Ann Tolbert is excellent (she was my Greek testament professor at Vanderbilt, and has presented before at MCC World Jubilees).  If any of you can attend you will love her.  (I'll be in Seattle for an MCC Sub Regional gathering,)  Blessings, Janet
