Folks, The meet for Saturday the 8th is still on! Jon is working with
his friend to make sure his shop will be available and it looks like
it will! I think we should plan to meet at 5 and fool around with
cars and eat pizza until we quit!

Bring your small projects, I am going to install a Dinan chip in my 5
series if it rains, if it's sunny i'm going to bring my 2002 and see
what you all think about my suspected bent engine mount and what I
should do with it.

As for the location, Jon is going to confirm this with me tonight,
i'll let you all know ASAP.

Nick, are you going to come? If so, it would be cool to get a good
group photo with the cars!

Also, I recently learned there's an indoor go kart track in Richmond.
Has anyone ever been there? That might be fun for use to do.

Nick, no it's mostly stock except for Bilstein HD's, that chip,
Urethane control arm bushings and a few other small things i've done.
And all this is on the 87 535is

Indeed I'm still confirming a location & will make an announcement soon.  Sorry it's taken so long, I was working at VIR for the last three days, and spent most of last week preparing.  Here are some pics (with plenty of BMW content, including TC Kline's own Z4 M based Carbon Coupe):

Good times,

Jon
ps- yep there is a great indoor kart track here in town, we could always meet there if all else fails

Whats up guys, stumbled upon this from R3V... Quite a bit of bmw
content around the Richmond area lately, Im sure there are a few
familiar faces on here (obviously Jon being one of them, that getfast
name is on every bmw forum Ive ever been a member of!) Not sure that I
can make a meet this weekend but will pass the word around to a few
close e30 friends once you have the details together.

Also, a few buddies of mine have put together a new website - www.bmwdiy.org,
so check it out.

I have confirmed a location.  No lifts, but room to wander and wrench as necessary.  Plus plenty of provisions nearby if we need 'em.  What time are we thinking about?

I was thinking we could show up at five. I'm ordering Pizzas and such
I think i'll have them delivered around then. Where's the Venue?

5 works, but you wouldn't rather do this a bit earlier so we have some daylight?

Hint... you visited this venue recently while the following car was being worked on:

(Bonus trivia... at left in the pic: Speed World Challenge BMW E90 racer & Bimmerworld owner James Clay!)

Further details tomorrow,

Our next meet has been confirmed for this Saturday March 8th at 3pm, rain or shine - and everyone is welcome!

Our host will be Chris from K-Factor Motorsports.  The location is the alley behind the 4200 block of Grove Avenue (just west of Malvern; side streets are Antrim and Sauer.)  A pair of roadcourse-prepared E36 M3 coupes will be on display.  Limited garage space may be available for minor service but please bring your own tools & supplies.  I would also suggest parking on Antrim Ave and walking up the alley, at least until we're sure we have enough space for everyone (depending on turnout of course.)

Also, after the meet we will be going to the auto show at the convention center:

PS- I have three other suitable locations lined up for future meets.  :-)

See ya there,

Jon

Sure.  We may already be en route to the auto show by then, who knows.

Who else is planning to stop by?

So, how was the meet? Have a lot of people show up? Get some good
photos? Wish I could have been there!

Only a few, but we had a good time! We gawked over a few racecars Jon
and Chris have been working on and checked out Nick's 530i. After
that we went to the Richmond auto show and concluded that most
American cars are Trash! Here's a few pictures...

sorry i couldn't make it. the driver school was great though.

not sure i can make an autoX down there, jon. 2.5 hours each way is a
haul for autoX, especially since there's always a chance i might break
the 02!

but that's the weekend for vintage at the vineyards anyway, so we'll
be in NC!

Amen! Is anyone else thinking of going down? Is V@V an event I could
bring some non BMW driving friends to without them being bored?

if your friends like cars and wine, then they will have plenty to do!
plus there are always so many great people to meet and talk to. take
them on the rally in the morning before V@V starts and they won't be
non-BMW friends much longer...they'll have to buy a bimmer.
