Thanks again to all who came out last month, and especially to Blue
Crump and the crew at Cityspace Construction. I got to chatting and
all; after a few beers it was time to leave and didn't get a chance to
publicly thank Cityspace. So we'll plug them again! Thank you, thank
you, thank you, and thank you for the good work you all are doing here
in Richmond.

This month's sponsor is copeland casati media. Since 1999 they have
been creating ethical branding, marketing, web site development and
print advertising with a focus on community. See what they can do for
you at www.copelandcasati.com. And be sure to thank Copeland and team
at Green Drinks for their sponsorship.

Something New/Something Old
Not only is Copeland parting with some of her hard-earned cash but
she's going to be helping out around the Green Drinks house to keep
things in order. And then there's Carrie Williar, who will be helping
to get more of you to part with a little spare change to keep our
venue in-place and allow you to get the word out about what you're
doing. Here's what we've been cooking up ...
To better enable our dynamic and diverse participants to interact and
engage, we are slightly changing our email format and social program.
What’s new? A lot, but not much. ; )
We remain committed to an informal, social, fun environment, but will
introduce a 5 minute topic (and yes, we are timing it with a loud egg
timer at which point the speaker is kicked unceremoniously off the
stage!) for each meeting. Feel free to submit your topics, news, and
upcoming events, and we will share them with the group. We hope that
by presenting a topic, members can engage in conversation / debate if
they like afterwards with each other & the speaker, or choose to
blithely ignore the subject and instead head for the free food,
courtesy of our very-appreciated sponsor!
Members will now receive two monthly emails:
1. Ten days prior to the next Green Drinks, Email 1 will be sent to
notify you of
The sponsor for the next event, including the sponsor’s logo and
website. (to sponsor Green Drinks for the month contact Carrie Williar
at car...@dramaticchanges.net)
The Date / Time / Place
Upcoming Events: Workshops, Open Houses, AIA Stuff… heck, invite us to
your BBQ! (submitted by members – please email your events, no later
than 2 weeks away, to Copeland Casati at copel...@GreenModernKits.com)
Upcoming Topic (submit your suggestions to Scott Kyle at sk...@fullscalearchitecture.com
)
2. One week following the latest Green Drinks, Email 2 will update
you on
The Previous Topic: Summary and relevant web links
Who was there? If you submit your card, we will include it in a pdf
distributed with Email 2 so you can find your new friends, as well as
see who you missed!
Photographs of the previous event
Upcoming Events for the next 2 weeks (that were not included in Email
1) (submitted by members – please email your events to Copeland Casati atcopel...@GreenModernKits.com
)
Need Help? Got something fun? Tell the members! We’ll include
requests / calls to action / volunteers needed / fun non-Green Drinks
nonprofit / community events here.
With this in mind, please consider this email your very first Email 1,
although we've already broken the first rule about punctuality. : )
Our upcoming topic will be Energy Recovery.
Topic presentation will be strictly adhered to from 6:15- 6:20 p.m.
Got an opinion? A new cool find in this subject area? Well don’t be
shy, share it! Feel free to send links to this subject to be included
in the follow up Email 2 to Copeland Casati at copel...@GreenModernKits.com

What is Green Drinks? Every month people who work in building and
environmental fields meet up for a beer at these informal sessions.
It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for
making new contacts. These events are very simple and unstructured,
but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new
ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. Look for our website
at the international organization - greendinks.org.
