Junior News only this week!!

Colwyn Bay 0 Rhyl 3

Rhyl U9s travelled to Colwyn Bay and played their best game this
season. It was Rhyl who were making all the moves during the first
half pushing Colwyn Bay backwards and going on to score the first try.

In the second half C/Bay were fighting back but Rhy's Ryan Pamment,
Daniel Jones and Ryan Finnigan held them back with some excellent
tackles forcing them to make the mistakes Rhyl could take advantage
of.

Try scorers were Jack Stavley, Seren Kerfoot Robson(captain) and
Elliot Jones.

Rhyl Under 11s 5 Colwyn Bay Under 11s 2

In a game arranged at short notice, both teams had a mixture of both
under 10s and 11s with Rhyl coming out on top 5 tries to 2 after a
close first half.

Tries were scored by Daniel Colclough (3) and Matthew Jones (2) with
the Sovereign Trophies Man Of The Match going to Carl Higginson.

Colwyn Bay U 12s 5 pts, Rhyl U 12s 14 pts.

Rhyl traveled to Colwyn Bay and came away deserved winners of a hard
fought match which saw both teams battling for early supremacy. The
visitors combined well and with slick ball handling, released winger
Zak Hudson to run in an 80 metre try. Following the restart, Rhyl
forwards made the hard yards, putting the ball through tight phases of
play to again see Zak Hudson touch the ball down under the posts for
his second try. Both of which were comfortably converted by Kieran
Fardoe. Rhyl defended well during a second half which saw a determined
Colwyn Bay team score their only try of the match with a well worked
backline attack.

Congratulations to Adam Thomas for being awarded the Sovereign
Trophies Man of the match award.

This week Rhyl took there unbeaten under 13s side to Orrell, and came
away with another spectacular win beating the hosts 67-0, with the
list of try scorers showing just how much this team plays throughout
its whole squad. Jason Blackmore (capt) 2 tries, Lewys Weaver 2 tries
and 6 conversions, Russ Ward 2 tries and also with 1 try each Man of
the match Russ Ward, Adam Clayton, Arron Slater, Elliott Roberts,
Timmy Wright and Jamie Griffiths.

Orrell Under 15 pts, 7 Rhyl and District Under 15 62 pts.

A brave Orrell side were the unfortunate victims as Rhyl played some
of their best Rugby of the season, despite the wet conditions
underfoot. Tries were run in from all over the pitch as Rhyl attempted
to play flowing 15 man rugby. Try scorers in the first half came from
amongst others George North, Henry Roberts, Jack Goronow and Callum
Bennett. It was more of the same in the second half as Tom Bond, Josh
Woods, Sam Hurd and Sean Condon and Tom Coathup crossed the whitewash.
Particular praise should go to Tom Bond who played his best game back
since injury with a real trojan effort.

Next Week: Rhyl Under 16 and 15 teams are at home to Tarleton. Rhyl
Under 14 and 13 teams are away to Tarleton. The coach leaves Rhyl
Sports and Social Club at 8.45 am. The Rhyl under 12, under11, under
9, under 8 and under 7 teams are all away at Llandudno.
