City Committee meeting -- Monday November 9th
BttF City Committee Director Mark Cohoe is holding a City Committee meeting on Monday November 9th from noon until 1:00 PM at the Eco-Centre (3rd floor of the MEC building, Portage & Donald).
His main agenda item is the upcoming City of Winnipeg council/committee meetings about the 2010 City budget. Please see BttF's City Committee page at http://biketothefuture.org/about/bttfs-city-committee.

Karin's City Planning thesis -- Monday November 9th
Karin Kliewer, BttF's Board Secretary and UofManitoba Masters' of City Planning student will be defending her thesis entitled Power and the Vélorution: Cycling advocacy, social networking and grassroots change in Winnipeg, MB on Monday November 9th at 1:00 PM at the Eco-Centre (3rd floor of the MEC building, Portage & Donald). This is a public event.

2009 Annual General Meeting -- Tuesday November 10th
Bike to the Future's 2009 Annual General Meeting is this coming Tuesday November 10th at 5:30 at the UofWinnipeg Boardroom. (Room 2M70, 2nd floor in Manitoba Hall. Enter the UofWinnipeg via Centennial Hall, take the escalator to the 2nd floor, and turn right.) It will be immediately followed by our November Monthly Meeting. We'll be selling memberships and T-shirts prior to, during, and after the meetings.

Our next Monthly Meeting is on Tuesday November 10th
Bike to the Future usually meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 at the Eco-Centre (3rd floor MEC building at Portage & Donald). For November, we're meeting at 6:00 the UofWinnipeg Boardroom. (Room 2M70, 2nd floor in Manitoba Hall. Enter the UofWinnipeg via Centennial Hall, take the escalator to the 2nd floor, and turn right.) The November Monthly Meeting will be immediately preceded by our 2009 Annual General Meeting at 5:30. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Membership
Members of Bike to the Future agree with our mission and vision and support it. We are a volunteer-run, incorporated, non-profit organization that is only as strong as our membership.
As of October 2009, Bike to the Future has over 900 members!
All memberships taken out in 2008 are due for renewal as of our 2009 Annual General Meeting on November 10th. Memberships purchased during 2009 are in effect until our 2010 Annual General Meeting in November 2010. Please show your support for our work by becoming a member or renewing your membership. If you are not sure of your membership status, please contact BttF's Membership Committee Director, Rob Cosco.

BttF Members' Night at the Mountain Equipment store
BttF's first Members' Night will be held at the Mountain Equipment Co-op store (Portage & Donald) on Monday November 3rd from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. (The store closes to the public at 7:00.) Activities include:
BttF memberships can be purchased at the door by anyone who does not have a BttF membership that was paid for in 2009.
Bike to the Future thanks MEC for 2009-2010 Partnership Agreement funding.

Cycling workshops at The Bike Dump
The Bike Dump is holding a series of free drop-in workshops on a variety of bike-related topics on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 PM. See http://bike-dump.ca.

Winnipeg Bike Valet
Bike to the Future is looking at starting up a free bike valet service in Winnipeg next summer. We are looking for people interested in assisting with this exciting project, which includes creating a business plan, recruiting events to use the service, recruiting sponsors to support Winnipeg Bike Valet, etc. We are also requesting submissions for a logo (for winnipegbicyclevalet.ca and/or winnipegbikevalet.ca).

Speak Up Winnipeg
Speak Up Winnipeg is the City's public forum for Winnipeggers to express their opinions about the future of our City, and how we can ensure it is sustainable, making Winnipeg a leader among cities.
