Dear All,

We have the following announcements to make:

1) Seminar on Privacy:
RFGI in partnership with The Centre for Internet and Society, is organising a seminar on 'Privacy Matters', a public conference focused on discussing the challenges and concerns to privacy in India.

The right to privacy in India has been a neglected area of study and engagement. Although sectoral legislation deals with privacy issues, India does not as yet have a horizontal legislation that deals comprehensively with privacy across all contexts. The seminar will focus on the questions and dilemmas posed by privacy in India today, with a concentration on security, national surveillance, prisoners rights and privacy. The seminar will take place on Saturday, 26th March from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA). All are cordially invited.

2) Talk by Lord Meghnad Desai:
We are extremely happy to inform you that on Friday, 1st of April 2011, Lord Meghnad Desai would be delivering a talk for RFGI. Lord Desai is an internationally-acclaimed Economist and Professor Emeritus, London School of Economics. He will be speaking on 'Does India need a revolution to clean up its politics?' from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA). All are cordially invited. Kindly RSVP on: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=142135229186140

3) RFGI Photocontest:
The deadline of the RFGI photocontest 'Sparkle-in-Snaps' is shortly approaching. The deadline for sending entries is March 20th 2011.  The photo-exhibition will be taking place at AMA from 4 PM at AMA. The winners of the contest will be felicitated by Lord Desai on the 1st of April, after his talk. Please send in your entries on photoc...@rfgindia.org to avail this opportunity.
