I have a checkbox field called 'Is Primary'.  If I don't fill in 'Options' in the System Setup then no box displays on the upload form.  Do you have to add Options?  I was hoping that I wouldn't need to because text next to the checkbox would be redundant and I wanted only one checkbox.

Last I knew the field name was not searchable, only the field options. That is to say, if the field is called "Is Primary" and the checkbox options were "Yes" and "No" you would not be able to search for "is primary" as a keyword phrase. You could search for the shortname and option though (isprimary:yes).

I should note that my yes/no example is a poor one in that the field options have little meaning out of context and it's rare that people would search for yes or no as a keyword....

Thats a good point, 'Yes' and 'No' are not going to be the most search friendly.  Also, if I had 'Yes' and 'No' as Options it looks like the user could check both.

If you only want to populate a field with a single option the dropdown list is your answer.
