RC has a new repository location (the current one continues to work,
but will stay at the current version)
tags (current is 0.5):
http://svn.ardes.com/resources_controller/tags/0.5/resources_controller
trunk:
http://svn.ardes.com/resources_controller/trunk/resources_controller
I'll be updating the docs to reflect this change shortly
RC has been pretty stable for a while now, nevertheless there are some
things that would be nice to have:
- the xml responses expose all your model's attributes by default
(easy to override, but might bite the uninitiated), so an easy way of
turning these off,
- the need for some way of dealing with context for url_helpers (cf.
http://groups.google.com/group/resources_controller/t/db0f6f6df4482e3),
- simplification of the resource_path/url helpers backend,
- Making better use of lazy database stuff for resources (use case,
you have page caching turned on, and so you only want
enclosing_resources and resource to hit the db when they are accessed
- just like Rails Association proxies)
- writing an example app as part of the test suite (like rspecs example app)
- better docs about specing RC controllers
Are there any other issues/features that RCers are feeling? Which f
the above issues are the most important ones?
Finally, I'd love to get some help with some of this stuff. Here's
how you could help:
- provide spec'd patches
- contact me with your ideas and code, and we can talk about adding
some devs with write access
- lighthouse. It would be nice if there was a bug.issue tracker,
would people consider sponsoring RC a small amount to pay for a public
lighthouse account?
Ok, that's it for now, in the UK it's time to close the laptop lid.
Cheers,
Ian
