Recently, three Ladera residents decided to start a stray/feral cat program known as TNR (trap, neuter and return) to help control cat overpopulation here in Ladera Heights.  This effort is being lead by Ladera resident Pat Hightower along with Noreen Clark and yours truly.  Our goal is to help the cats because we need them to keep the mice and rat population under control (CATS... NO RATS) yet we don't want the cat population to explode because then that means sick and starving cats and unhappy residents.  We wish to improve the quality of life for all residents... 2 and 4-legged alike.  So, if you have stray/feral cats producing kittens in your neighborhood, please let us know.

 

Anyway, on Monday a Siamese-mix cat was trapped in Upper Ladera on Shenandoah but when it was taken to get fixed, it was discovered that it already was... so it is clearly someone's pet but there was no ID tag and no microchip.  If anyone knows of a missing Siamese-mix cat or see any flyers, please let me know ASAP.  We would like to reunite it with its family.

 

As I have said many times, all pets should have ID tags and a microchip if you care about them and want them back should they get lost or trapped.  Cats especially need to be microchipped because they can easily lose collars and tags.  With trapping taking place, please make sure your cats stay inside and/or wear tags... and get them microchipped too!  Let me know if you want to get your pet microchipped and I can help you get that done.
