RE: Slauson Avenue, E. of La Brea redesign plans and traffic impacts to Ladera
& Ladera Heights Community
DEADLINE for your response is FEB 10th

Dear Members:

The County office of Mark Ridley-Thomas is reaching out to interested
homeowners for input on a number of options for Slauson Ave. This is an
area just _east_ of the Ladera "boundary", and therefore is not part of
our LHCA beautification programs. However, the traffic problems that
will increase from some of the proposed options will
have an immediate and direct impact on traffic throughout Slauson in
our area. In a nutshell, there is money available for bike lanes and
some of the Options include bike lanes along Slauson. This will result in
fewer car lanes or smaller car lanes, or both. It is clear there will be
adverse traffic impacts with those Options, and for that reason I am encouraging
you to make your opinion as a voter heard immediately.

Please go to the interesting, well laid out website if you haven't
already, and review the choices. You may vote on the one you prefer. I
hope you will agree with me that insertion of a bike lane is not
advisable on this busy street _because in doing so you diminish car-flow
and there is no alternative East/West throughway in our area to absorb the traffic impact.

Options that do not include a bike lane AND do not diminish car lanes are: C & E.
Both would permit some degree of sidewalk enhancement/
beautification process and a better streetscape for hoped for quality retail.

I am attending the LA County Slauson Task Force meetings as
representative of LHCA, the next is scheduled for later in February. _It is
important that the County Supervisor's staff receive YOUR input BY FEB 10th
so our voices can be heard timely, not late!!!_

What I Ask YOU to do:
Vote on the the survey, and if you are so inclined, add your voice to those who are
on the web site "comments" section, or write the Supervisor a direct, personal
letter!!! Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas <MarkRidl...@bos.lacounty.gov>
And send me a blind copy, please.

Thank you for your help!

Dorothy
